About TAFtrack
TAFtrack is a formative assessment tool built for UK primary schools. It gives teachers a quick, structured way to collect evidence from pupils' writing and map it to the KS1 and KS2 teacher assessment framework statements.
A teacher uploads a scan or photograph of a pupil's work, draws a box around the relevant handwriting, and tags it to one or more “pupil can” statements. The system keeps a running count of what has been seen across the portfolio. It does not, on its own, decide whether a pupil is working towards, expected, or greater depth. An additional built in AI tool can scan the image and suggest statement matches.
The final judgement always stays with the teacher, recorded in their own rationale. This makes TAFtrack useful for moderation meetings, progress reviews, and handovers between year groups, while keeping human professional judgement at the centre.

Not a statutory assessment tool
TAFtrack is designed to support teacher assessment, not to replace it. It does not award standards automatically and it is not a statutory assessment system. Schools should continue to follow their own policies and local authority guidance for official assessment and moderation.
